Platform Technical Specialist
This is a position for Platform Development Organization at Investment and Advisory Division, Thomson Reuters

* Manage planning, design, implementation, and delivery of next-generation WPF, web, and rich interactive client application/s that showcase the rich content and workflow capabilities of Thomson Reuters Financial Data and News Content.

* Visualize and deliver a strong user experience that helps to enhance brand recognition and competition differentiation for Thomson Reuters by building data visualization platform capabilities.

* Work closely with product management to gather customer requirements, and execute the project using series of shippable sprints by applying agile delivery methodology.

* Contribute to the ongoing development of project process, tools, and techniques, such that they develop in line with company organizational, technical, and commercial requirements. invitation

* Mentor, and provide strong technical architecture leadership to extensive team of qualified software developers distributed globally.

* Deliver a high-quality product and service experience to clients within assigned project/product delivery responsibilities.

* Ensure product capabilities and architecture meet current and strategic business and technical needs.

* Manage relationships with other business divisions, technology leaders, and vendor partners to achieve synergy in the strategic direction of product roadmaps and customer value propositions.

Qualifications


* Extensive Experience in building rich .NET applications in building rich client side applications using WPF or Silverlight.

* Experience with Agile development tools and methodologies such as Scrum, DSDM, or XP, and solid conceptual understanding of test-driven development and continuous integration.

* Hands on experience in web technologies such as Web 2.0, AJAX, HTML, XML, ASP, VB/Jscript, Java Servlets, and JSP.

* Strong hands-on Programming experience in building Web 2.0 based web experience based off service oriented architecture. Must be familiar with web performance tuning and content acceleration technologies.

* Experience with Development SDK's, development frameworks, languages such as C#, Embedded C#/C /Java, Objective C, and database technology such as SQL, stored procedures, and scripting.

* Familiarity with financial data and delivery platforms (such as TRMDS), financial data concepts, snapshot and streaming financial data, financial analytics and screening, portfolio analysis, company and economic data, and business and price charting.

* Experience in service-oriented architecture, .NET web services, J2EE, or other application integration solutions.

* Experience in delivering software products in a multi-OS environment (Windows, Linux, or Mac).

* Self motivation, leadership, and current knowledge on industry advancements and technology pipeline.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and business interaction skills/experience with product management, sales, and clients are essential.

Desired Skills:

* At least 8 - 10 years experience in the software development industry, 3-5 years experience in web/client side/framework type applications development, 1 - 2 years in WPF application development, 1 - 2years in financial application development.

* At least 3 years of management and implementation architecture covering software product development life cycle and delivery including customer service.

Education:

* BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or related field.
