If you're passionate about what you do and want to live and work in an amazing place this is a great opportunity. Insitu is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Production and Repair Operations Industrial Engineer intern to advance the state of the art for Insitu's unmanned aircraft systems.

Tasks include:

  • Develops, implements and evaluates processes to optimize operational efficiency. Uses mathematical, process and simulation models to optimize use and integration of facilities, equipment, materials, processes and personnel.
  • Applies basic Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis and decision tools to promote and Implement changes in manufacturing.
  • Develops models, data bases and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, engineering economics), and provides summary analysis and metrics as directed by higher level employees for consultation to customers (e.g., management, departments, suppliers).
  • Applies basic industrial engineering techniques and concepts to product design teams, resulting in a robust product design and work statement that meets program requirements.
  • Researches, designs, develops, improves, and implements processes as directed to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.
  • Utilizes engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to assist in developing optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the manufacturing and testing of products. Analyzes and supports the design of the value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, factory layout).

Qualifications

Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and strong technical skills

Education

Candidates are required to be currently enrolled in Industrial Engineering or related studies at an accredited college or university, currently in their junior or senior year, or enrolled in post-baccalaureate degree studies.
