Position Title: Hydraulics Technician

Location: St. Charles, MO

A Hydraulic Technician will utilize mechanical skills to assist in the manufacture and build of a variety of unique products such as custom designed displays, trailers, and vehicles to meet project specifications and established timelines. Strong focus on workplace safety and product quality is essential to be successful in this role.

Additionally, the Hydraulic Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic systems. Expertise in mechanical and hydraulic skills will be crucial in ensuring the proper construction and function of our custom designed projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the construction and manufacturing process of unique products according to project specifications.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and design teams to understand project requirements and timelines.
  • Under moderate supervision, install and assemble hydraulic systems in accordance with project specifications.
  • Ensure proper alignment and integration of hydraulic components, including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and hoses.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic components and systems, addressing issues such as leaks, pressure problems, and contamination.
  • Develop effective solutions to resolve issues and restore hydraulic systems to optimal performance.
  • Conduct tests and calibrations on hydraulic systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work closely with engineering/shop teams to provide input on the design and improvement of hydraulic systems.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards related to hydraulic systems.
  • Adhere to departmental safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years' experience as a hydraulic technician or similar role.
  • Proficient experience with hydraulic system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • In-depth knowledge of hydraulic principles, components, and systems.
  • Proficiency in reading hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Must be able to display mechanical aptitude and use basic hand tools such as a tape measure, level, drill, etc...
  • Knowledge of basic construction principles and methods.
  • Ensure compliance with a safety mindset.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team and as an individual contributor.
  • Must effectively communicate and present interpretations of work.
  • Displays initiative to learn and to take on more responsibilities.
  • Willingness to provide instruction to other employees.

Preferred

Technical certification or associate degree in hydraulics, fluid power, or a related field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to stand up 8+ hours per day.
  • Physically able to move and transport up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to ascend/descend on a ladder, climb in/out of trailers and work atop scaffolding.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, balance, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to bend, grip and move fingers/hands.
  • Ability to work in various environments and weather conditions.
  • Very occasional travel (0-5%) may be required for off-site assistance/repair.
