Aegion's Safety team includes a team of exceptionally talented individuals responsible for supporting Aegion's growing global businesses. The DOT Manager's position is responsible for the overall management of Aegin's DOT compliance processes along with assisting and leading driver safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit company performance against DOT standards and provide actions to keep company's delivery system in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Provide a centralized point of reporting, tracking, root cause trend analysis and case management for all vehicle accidents, including determination of preventability while service as Chairman of the Driver Safety Committee.
  • Assisting in developing programs and action plans to reduce risks and accidents.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the required DOT files, coordination with local office employees, Area Safety Managers and JJ Keller to ensure that the information in these files is up to date and audit ready.
  • Produce reports and graphs depicting data and trends for regular distribution and to respond to ad hoc requests.
  • Manage the integration of newly acquired companies into the DOT program to include employee onboarding, program training and system integration.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to interpret and apply FMCSA rules and regulations to the business.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive DOT Experience or a degree from an accredited university.
  • Experience with regulatory agencies, external auditor and internal clients required.
  • 5+ years' experience with fleet/driver safety training experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft office suite: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to draft reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information to individuals or groups (management, clients, customers, general public, and respond to questions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to conduct training.
