Job Description

TITLE: Sr. Test Engineer
LOCATION: Maryland Heights, MO

JOB SUMMARY: Work as part of a team responsible for developing applications used by Charter's call center agents. Define and document test strategy and methodology. Execute testing to verify the quality of software. Proactively investigate automation opportunities. Collaborate on cross-functional teams to streamline test processes. Define and track quality assurance metrics, such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status. Optimize defect resolution process by conducting additional analysis of scenarios, ensuring defects are well-documented and have all required diagnostic information to drive expedient resolution. Review test cases to ensure they cover requirements. Set manual and automation test execution goals for the team. Provide comprehensive reports to test leadership on the progress of testing goals. Perform back-end system and UI triage and troubleshooting when identifying defects. Deliver quality process training to technical staff. Act as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners. Perform quality audits across various functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are being followed. Develop, modify, enhance, and implement test plans designed to support new or existing business initiatives. Identify improvement opportunities (process/tools/duplication) and work with cross-functional teams to create testing efficiencies. Attend and contribute to agile ceremonies of assigned development teams. Coordinate with distributed test teams, including offshore Test Team members. Mentor and coach junior level Test Engineers.


EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 5 years of experience: testing software within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) utilizing HP-ALM or TestRail; utilizing Agile and Waterfall test methodologies to optimize the efficiency of testing. 2 years of experience defining automation strategies and implementing automation frameworks. 1 year of experience: utilizing SQL Database schemas and SQL Developer, CSG Billing Systems, Splunk and Postman querying tools to confirm the flow of data; assessing root cause of automation failures. *Hybrid (office and remote) work arrangement is available.
