As an OEM, MiTek is at the forefront of industry change and looking for talented Electrical Controls Engineers with a strong desire to grow and showcase their talents. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing complex electrical and robotic systems with requirements driven by sound project management practices.

Job Responsibilities & RequirementsRESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, evaluate and support automated industrial machinery products with focus on New Product Development (NPD) in the Component Manufacturing (CM) and off-site construction industry with minimal supervision

  • Lead team members through the planning, development, and deployment of complex electrical architectures with a high level of integrated automation

  • Generate electrical project execution artifacts of small to large scale deployments (i.e.cost estimates, schedules, resource needs, risks, forecasts, status, etc.)

  • Participate in staged-gating process (i.e. requirements reviews, design reviews, test readiness reviews, verification reviews, etc.)

  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause/corrective actions

  • Design, integrate, and test electrical parts, enclosures, and assemblies using industry best practices

  • Design, integrate, test and debug NFPA79/NEC/UL508A compliant electrical control panels, parts and assemblies using industry best practices

  • Design, integrate, test and debug industrial PLCs, HMIs, and electrical controls systems

  • Design, integrate, test, industrial electro-mechanical and robotic systems

  • Work with Software Developers and Systems Engineers to generate system logic and controls (software development experience will be a significant advantage)

  • Develop and maintain project documentation (i.e. system requirements, engineering drawings, equipment manuals, test plans, project notes, etc.)

  • Ensure compliance with MiTek engineering procedures, guidelines, industry standards and governmental regulations applicable to industrial machinery without supervision

  • Perform engineering analysis and calculations where applicable

  • Enter new/update existing data in MRP/ERP system without supervision

  • Support Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, Purchasing, Installation, and Customer Service Organizations throughout a product's lifecycle

  • Review/stay current with industry trends & emerging technologies

  • Manage individual tasking while working with other electrical / robotic engineers through project execution with minimal oversight

  • Some travel required (up to 25% during critical on-site activities)

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university and4+ years of electrical engineering design experience

  • Proficiency with power distribution, circuit breakers, overcurrent protection, and terminal blocks

  • Proficiency with PLC's, HMI's, motor controllers, VFDs, servos, and sensors

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and AutoDesk Vault

  • Proficiency in electrical symbols with experience in circuit analysis

  • Robotics experience preferred

  • Experience in the utilization of vision systems

  • Ability to rapidly diagnose and troubleshoot automated systems

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure & deadlines

  • Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills

  • Strong communication skills to interact frequently with stakeholders

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
