Job SummaryTYLin is seeking a Transportation Planning Intern to join our TYLin | Sam Schwartz City Solutions team for the Summer of 2024. This opportunity will be based in our NYC office location and have occasional time in our Jersey City, NJ office.We are seeking a passionate student to join our interdisciplinary team of consultants (planning, urban design, transporation engineering) to work on a range of planning projects. Projects that may include corridor studies, bike and pedestrian plans, emerging mobility, communitywide multi-modal transportation plans.Responsibilities & Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducting site visits and field observations
- Performing traffic, crash, and other transportation analyses
- Developing maps and conducting geospatial analysis
- Preparing high-quality graphics and developing presentation materials
- Writing technical reports
- Preparing conceptual designs of proposed projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards an Urban Planning, Urban Design, Public Policy, or related Master's or PhD program
- Strong Interest in Transporation and urban planning
- Experience using GIS Mapping software (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online) preferred
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and InDesign) preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required
- Ability to present ideas, projects and solutions in a polished and professional manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment
