Waukesha County's Department of Health & Human Services is recruiting for a talented Social Worker to join the Child & Family Services Unit.
The purpose of Child and Family Services' is to serve individuals and families of Waukesha County by providing quality and professional services. We strive to use the many formal and informal supports within families and our community to keep children in their home whenever safely possible. We value collaboration and coordination with the families we serve, community professionals, and within our department to implement effective prevention and intervention strategies. This position is responsible for safety, permanency and well-being for children and families under Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 48 and related State mandates. The Ongoing Social Worker's role focuses on strengthening families by providing support and services to children in the home of a birth parent, relative, or other temporary caregiver. The Ongoing Social Worker is responsible for partnering with the family to create and implement the case plan or permanency plan through service provision, coordination and facilitation of family team meetings, and court oversight. The Ongoing Social Worker will join a team of workers managing cases within the Child Protective Services continuum of care, including Initial CPS, Foster Care and Children with Special Needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under supervision, to perform professional work involving the delivery of social work services to individuals and families in need of counseling and referral services; and to perform other duties as required.
