Our Actuarial department is a dynamic group of professionals focusing on pricing, reserving, and data analysis for all written lines of business. The actuarial team creates, maintains and updates pricing models for underwriters to utilize; creates reserving estimates for all lines of business and assists with financial- and claims-related items, helping the organization to succeed using our insurance expertise. Role Description:
In the role of Senior Actuarial Analyst I - Pricing, you will be part of a team responsible for analyzing and building pricing models and creating, analyzing and submitting rate and rule filings on a countrywide basis, and building rate level indications. In this role you will have the opportunity to work closely with your colleagues in Actuarial Services as well as our Insurance Underwriting, IT, Insurance Compliance, and Account Services departments. Your primary responsibilities as a Senior Actuarial Analyst I - Pricing will include managing, facilitating, and fulfilling Safety National's rate and product filing needs, which will be 25%-50% of this role.
By fulfilling Safety National's rate filing needs, you will play a key role in Safety National meeting our compliance requirements and maintaining our strong brand within the commercial insurance industry. Additional responsibilities required of you include applying your knowledge of insurance company operations and actuarial pricing methodologies to create actuarial models and rate indications. You will work closely with staff and other department's managers to respond to corporate initiatives, market developments, regulatory changes, and corporate goals.
The ideal candidate is pursuing their Associate of Casualty Actuarial Society who has completed at least three exams and has five or more years of experience. This role requires strong detail orientation and organization skills. Prior experience with state regulatory rate filings and experience developing rate level indications is required. Finally, SQL and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including VBA is required.

It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
