Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data and Integrations QA Engineer to join our dynamic Data Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our data pipelines and integrations. Your primary focus will be on testing the end-to-end data flow, identifying, and resolving data quality issues, and ensuring seamless integration between various systems.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Data Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct comprehensive testing of data pipelines to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
  • Develop and execute test plans for data validation, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to understand data models and business rules, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Integration Testing:

  • Validate and verify data integrations between different systems and applications.
  • Perform end-to-end testing of integrated data flows to identify and address potential issues.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand integration requirements and implement effective testing strategies.

Automation:

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated testing scripts for data pipelines and integrations.
  • Continuously enhance and optimize automated test frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage.

Issue Identification and Resolution:

  • Investigate and troubleshoot data discrepancies, integration failures, and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and developers to resolve identified issues and ensure data quality standards are met.

Documentation:

  • Document test cases, test results, and testing processes to facilitate knowledge transfer and future reference.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of QA documentation, including best practices and guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
    • 3+ years of experience in SQL or Python to conduct thorough data validation and verification during integration testing, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data flows across systems.
    • Familiarity with MuleSoft, Boomi, or Informatica Integration Platforms. Proficient conducting end-to-end integration tests, including point-to-point testing across diverse applications and services.
    • Expertise in Master Data Management (MDM) Platforms such as Enterworks, Profisee, or Informatica, with a track record of successful implementation or administration.
    • Understanding of HTTP RESTful and SOAP APIs and how to test for functionality, performance, and security. Experience in handling various message formats like JSON and XML. Understanding of API documentation and specifications (OpenAPI, Swagger)
    • Proficiency using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or Apigee for API testing and validation.
    • Experience with Message Queuing systems like Azure Service Bus or RabbitMQ, including managing message queues for reliable asynchronous communication between distributed components, optimizing queue performance, and monitoring queue health metrics.
    • Competence in load testing using tools such as Apache JMeter to simulate heavy loads on API integrations.
    • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies for change management and meeting documentation requirements for unit, regression, and user acceptance testing.
    • Knowledge of data security principles, data privacy regulations (such as GDPR, CCPA), and compliance standards, with demonstrated experience implementing relevant measures.
    • Hands-on experience with testing tools and frameworks, coupled with a deep understanding of automation principles and best practices.
