Job Overview:

We are currently hiring for someone to join our team in St. Louis, MO as an Prevention Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing prevention and early intervention services to local school districts to mitigate substance use among youth. Your responsibilities will include offering training, curriculum development, assessments, referral facilitation, consultation, and reporting outcomes as needed. You will also serve as a point of contact for community-based coalitions, providing technical assistance and training resources to enhance their ability to prevent substance use. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for community-based coalitions, teams, and task forces in the assigned geographic area.
  • Provide technical assistance and training resources to coalitions to strengthen their efforts in preventing substance use.
  • Attend conferences and internal in-services as required by contract and/or project leadership.
  • Assist in creating yearly community needs assessments for the contract award area and coalition needs assessments in the designated geographic area.
  • Develop and deliver prevention and early intervention services to local school districts, including training, curriculum development, assessments, referral facilitation, consultation, and reporting outcomes as required.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in social work, counseling, criminal justice, psychology, or a related human service field from an accredited college or university; OR
  • High school diploma or GED with at least one (1) year of experience in the human services field.
