Job Summary

This position is responsible for all aspects of setting up and running the packaging for frozen food. The Frozen Packaging Line Worker understands the product flow process and procedures, and ensures consistent, efficient, and effective workflow through the department.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Pick frozen goods from storage to fulfill client orders in the packaging frozen room.
  • Pack the frozen goods into containers with dry ice to be shipped directly to customers.
  • Understand, demonstrate and enforce safe work practices at all times; must stay focused on maintaining a safe work environment at all times
  • Follow all food safety required procedures.
  • Check quality characteristics while fulfilling orders.
  • Follow all necessary GMPs.
  • Observe and follow safety procedures using personal safety equipment.
  • Perform hourly quality checks on finished goods.
  • Enter data into Flex System.
  • Assist in Production performing packaging duties as needed or requested.
  • Provide support work for plant improvement projects as directed.
  • Pick components for batches from warehouse stock.
  • Perform clean out procedures between product runs.
  • Assist with monthly inventories as needed and ensure accurate batch/inventory tracking.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Profile

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One year (1) related experience and/or training

Required Skills

  • Ability to work in a 40-50-degree anti-room using PPE
  • Ability to communicate effectively, read, comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Must possess organizational and teamwork skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, and multiply
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts
  • High attention to detail
  • Self-motivated

Work Environment

  • Exposure to hot and cold climate
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
