Summary

The Corporate Writing Specialist develops creative, clear-written material in support of the firm's communications strategies. The Specialist plans, designs, and publishes internal or external communications (e.g., newsletters, brochures, manuals, website content).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Writes and edits articles and content for use in various communication platforms.
* Consult with Financial Advisors on personal branding initiatives, providing guidance and direction on messaging and tone, writing copy for Advisor bios, websites, brochures, etc., and recommending improving existing materials.
* Collaborates with interdepartmental teams and subject matter experts to efficiently and effectively execute strategic communication campaigns and ad hoc marketing projects.
* Works with video team on video scripts for financial advisors and internal announcements.
* Actively contributes to corporate social media strategy, develops content, and reviews posts created by other team members.
* Creates copy for print, radio, and digital ads based on specific requests from Financial Advisors proactively and based on current trends.
* Reviews and proofs materials created by other associates to ensure compliance with Stifel style and grammar guidelines, recommending refinements to improve readability when appropriate.
* Assists Financial Advisors and other executives with writing for client communications, proposal requests, and different needs.
* Works with the Public Communications team to develop and update compliant language for marketing materials.
* Writes press releases and assists with distribution to the media as needed.
* Helps develop and maintain the organization's style guide, including editorial standards and policies.

Qualifications

* Knowledge of Stifel policies/procedures and a thorough understanding of products and services offered while ensuring industry regulatory requirements are met.
* Understands principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
* Ability to assess customer needs to meet quality service standards and evaluate customer satisfaction.

Education & Experience

* Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or Communications.
* Minimum Required: 1+ years of corporate writing experience.

Systems & Technology

* Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Word.
