Project Procurement Specialist - Expeditor (ZA0937)

About The Position

The Project Procurement Specialist - Expeditor is a project procurement position that works with Ameren project teams, Business Segment stakeholders and Ameren suppliers and contractors in the planning, coordination and execution of materials and equipment orders related to projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with Project Procurement Specialists and Strategic Sourcing professionals on potential supplier issues for the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process
  • Responsible for coordinating the resolution constraints (such as capacity issues, logistics challenges) with Project Managers, Suppliers, and the Ameren Supply Chain teams to identify project and portfolio impacts and facilitate project prioritization discussions.
  • Responsible for making sure material deliveries align with project delivery needs as it affects construction, outage, and in-service dates (e.g., lifting equipment needed to unload materials are onsite when needed and work can be completed safely). Elevates to Supply Chain teams as necessary for resolution.
  • Accountable for tracking and developing forecasts on need-by dates, order-by dates, and drawing submittal dates to meet need-by dates based on lead times and production slots (i.e. transformers, control enclosures, breakers, etc.). Assembles project material forecasts and provides to Supply Chain teams for analysis and communications to Suppliers.
  • Accountable for tracking long-lead time materials based on key manufacturing milestones to ensure accuracy of delivery times vs. need-by dates
  • Develop and utilize PO pending reports (internal requisition/PO approval sequence) to communicate with business line and Supply Chain approvers to ensure orders are completed to support project need-by dates.
  • Track supplier acknowledgements (order confirmation) to confirm PO's have been received and need-by dates are achievable.
  • Use information on supplier follow-up reports (order tracking) to confirm material delivery dates are in support of project milestones. Work with Supply Chain teams for resolution with Suppliers as needed.
  • Develop and utilize stock material back order reports (date jeopardies) to identify project need-by date jeopardies. Work with Junior Buyer to confirm dates with Suppliers and identify opportunities to expedite.
  • Develop look-aheads for deliveries upcoming in the field
  • Confirm with Suppliers and Stores any changes to material sequencing plan
  • At the time project sites are ready to receive material, provide updated site contact information to Storerooms and engage Supply Chain teams to update PO's for efficient advanced delivery notifications.
  • Use information provided by Ameren stores and warehouses on stock material deliveries
  • Through direct interaction with Construction Supervisors, Contractors, and Ameren crews, track requested vs. actual delivery dates of material as it arrives in the field (supplier performance).
  • Enter non-stock material receipts and collection of Material Tracking Records (MTRs), as appropriate
  • Facilitate material returns process by coordinating with appropriate Ameren warehousing personnel for project materials
  • Use logistics service provider software and shipper systems to track promised ship dates and monitor status
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; preferably in Engineering, Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Digital, or other related field from an accredited university. MBA, JD, or other related graduate degree preferred. Five or more years of directly relevant work experience in contracting, construction, strategic sourcing, purchasing, consulting, cost accounting, engineering, legal, or finance is required. Candidates with an advanced degree will be considered with three or more years of experience.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Experience working with and managing contracts required. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management required. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently required. Solid verbal and written communication skills preferred.
