The basics of this position:

Performs duties necessary to support effective labor and employee relations within the District.
Provides day-to-day guidance to the College administrators and managers on labor and employee
relations matters. Consults Administrative Procedures, Board Policies and Joint Resolutions as
references. Assists with intake, investigations and handling of Title IX matters.

What you'll do:

  • Investigate and address employee grievances and complaints; provides advice and guidance to
    the College administrators and managers/supervisors regarding labor and employee relations
    issues and opportunities.
    * Serve as Designee for the Director, Labor & Employee Relations, as needed.
    * In conjunction with Training Specialist, provides ongoing in-service training related to College
    policies, administrative procedures, and state and federal mandates and improves College
    effectiveness by providing training in supervisory/management skills to include coaching,
    performance management, discipline and grievance handling.
    * Prepare and recommend Human Resource policies, procedures and guidelines; monitors and
    coordinates the implementation of federal, state, and Board compliance requirements related
    to Labor & Employee Relations.
    * Support Labor & Employee Relations related negotiations/bargaining by providing guidance and
    advising on union/agency issues. Review agreements and case law to provide recommendations.
    Compile notes for review and dissemination. May serve in Lead Negotiator role. Provide wide ranging administrative support for Labor & Employee Relations related to negotiations/ bargaining, case intake and management, and reporting. * Serve as a Title IX investigator for employee involved matters. Conduct impartial, fact-based investigations. Assist with managing Title IX and other employee equity processes. * Serve as a Title IX investigator for employee involved matters. Assist with managing Title IX and other employee equity processes. * * Provide advice and assistance on Labor & Employee Relations matters to employees and managers related to grievances, appeals, conduct, performance, attendance, and dispute resolution. * Investigate employee incidents and prepare and present investigation reports and disciplinary actions for review and decision. * Create and manage Labor & Employee Relations case files, logs and documentation. * Investigate and conduct training sessions related to Title IX. * Facilitates the resolution of conflict situations between employees or between employees and supervisors. * Reviews job classifications, grades and placement in consideration of Joint Resolutions. * Participate in all required and relevant college training and development opportunities. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Education, experience, and other requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in labor relations, human
resources, industrial relations, business, or a related field.
