Position Details

This position appeals to an experienced processor in Loan Operations who is responsible for functions within any of the following areas including Documentation Compliance and Loan Servicing. Duties may include responsibilities of an experienced employee in any of the above areas or advanced knowledge in one or more areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Document Compliance:

Creates documents for the standard and more complicated / complex loan closing packets including Commercial, Agricultural, and IL Land Trust by utilizing loan documentation software; applies knowledge of compliance regulations, credit policy, bank procedures and loan processes to the loan transaction.

Ensures all elements of requested commercial transactions containing international financing meet First Bank policy guidelines, Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600) and International Standby Practices (ISP98) regulatory requirement, risk controls, and Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) while providing a service to the lenders and their customers.

Meets departmental performance objectives and informs manager of any issues which cannot be resolved at the supervisory level; utilizes Access Database to monitor monthly Performance Measurement report

Retrieves all pertinent / supporting documents from CAF library; reviews all loan document requests, pulled from CAF library, to ensure the minimum amount of information is available to begin the documentation process; verifies lending authority, entity good standing and flood determination for loan requests

Performs initial data entry of loan information into OPUS (file tracking system); creates, prints and affixes OPUS barcode labels to pre-closing loan files; plus updates OPUS information and generates barcode labels initiated by BCC, and SBA Lending

Process, validate documents are within processing standards and distribute closed loan packets to Loan Servicing for boarding to Signature

Process month-end / expedited scanned documents and distributes loan packets to Loan Servicing for boarding to Signature.

Assists with testing and maintaining Harland Pro Suite - Laser Pro Lending documentation software including implementation of new standard loan products in the documentation software to ensure regulatory compliance plus shares responsibility with International Department for CIBAR and SWIFT software applications

Aides in answering questions from Lenders and Administrative Assistants on how to handle complicated issues during the loan documentation process

Assists with training of the Loan Documentation personnel

Other duties may be assigned

Loan Servicing

Post multiple types of incoming loan payments, including but not limited to: wires, checks, deposit rejects and loan rejects.

Maintain established Base rate/Libor rate loans by serving as a liaison between First Bank lenders and agent banks, posts loan payments of various forms, completes payoff demand requests, and performs loan maintenance and loan disbursement requests.

Prepares correspondence, reports and other documents to assist in the tracking of required CFPB compliance.

Enter data regarding all new, renewal and modifications on Consumer, Business Banking, and Commercial loans into Insight. This includes both Laser-pro and attorney prepared loans.

Review loans for coding and contractual problems as well as for missing fees, signatures, scans, and/or Certificates of Beneficilal Ownership. Answer loan questions and perform loan maintenance requested by internal clients.

Work with Commercial Loan Admins, Retail Branches and Business Banking officers to resolve boarding, payment, and maintenance issues regarding loans.

Process Rollovers, post fees, payments and rate changes per instructions received by agent banks. Send out posting advice, wires and communicate with participating banks and lenders in a timely and cordial manner.

Research and respond to payoff demand requests and letters of guaranty.

Process Risk Rating changes, Non-Accrual, Chargeoffs, ORE, and close down loans as requests/approvals are received.

Maintain and submit SBA 1502 report for 7A and PPP loans on a daily and monthly basis.

Deceased borrower notification and system maintenance.

Assist with training of the Loan Servicing personnel.

What Do You Need for this Position?
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree in business or a related field preferred
  • Commercial loan documentation experience using lending documentation software is preferred
  • Must have a computer proficiency in a Windows environment
  • FIS-Insight user is a plus; 10-key proficiency is also required
  • This position is considered as Hybrid with hours worked in-office and remote
  • Multi-lingual, a plus
