Position Details

The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for planning, designing, implementing and administering a comprehensive total rewards strategy for the Company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, implement and administer a competitive and integrated total rewards strategy.
  • Strategically assess the effectiveness of current Total Reward programs in achieving organizational objectives; identify best practices and benchmarks; and develop recommendations for modifications to align to HR strategy and business goals.
  • Research and bring in-depth understanding of external best practices and innovative trends to apply to Total Rewards programs and technologies.
  • Support the development and integration of new and/or existing rewards programs, policies and procedures to ensure that programs are market competitive, internally equitable, and cost effective.
  • Manage and collaborate with vendors and external partners, including managing performance of contracts to ensure maximum value of services is delivered.
  • Prepare annual budget for total rewards and manage expenditures related to benefit programs.
  • Determine and implement metrics that assess and monitor the effectiveness of ongoing Total Rewards programs and new initiatives.
  • Serve as the liaison for internal and external auditors regarding the auditing of payments made under the plans.
  • Work with Compliance, General Counsel and other methods to stay abreast of changes to laws or regulations to ensure compliance.

Compensation

  • Evaluate the compensation landscape to understand and learn from best practices through benchmarking and industry research and employment trends, track legislation and make recommendations.
  • Evolve the compensation framework and career architecture to assist in clear job grading and leveling of non-retail positions.
  • Review short and long-term incentive plans at both corporate and business line levels to determine if they are incenting desired performance based on goals and objectives and makes recommendations for changes as deemed appropriate.
  • Partner with HR and leadership on appropriate compensation packages to recruit and retain talent.
  • Support all compensation planning processes in collaboration with HR and Operations.
  • Communicate actively with Accounting, Finance, Operations, HR and other departments to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
  • Collaborate with HRBP's to train and communicate with managers on the compensation strategy to ensure alignment and calibration for a consistent and equitable workforce.

Benefits

  • Manage all aspects of the employee benefits program. This includes health and welfare plans, retirement plans, life insurance, time off, wellness programs and any other employee benefit plans offered.
  • Plan and administer all benefit plans including COBRA, Leaves, ACA and enrollment efforts.
  • Oversee all ACA reporting and keeps abreast of regulatory changes affecting benefit plans and ensures company benefit plans and practices are in compliance with external regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as the main resource for employees and managers regarding all benefit related matters.
  • Develop internal operating procedures and controls for the administering and managing benefits.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to conduct research and build competitive Total Reward strategy including broad-based compensation, short and long term incentives, and progressive benefit, wellness and recognition programs.
  • Must have strong analytical skills to take data from a variety of sources and draw conclusions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required to explain compensation programs and strategies to all levels of participants.
  • Proven math and statistics skills needed to calculation compensation.
  • Ability effectively present data in such a way to influence leaders and senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through processes, identify and implement process improvements and resolve complex matters.
What Do You Need for this Position?
  • Four-year college degree in a business-related field required.
  • Seven to ten years prior compensation experience or training required.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook required.
  • CCP or CCBM designation preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of the Regulatory and Legislative imperatives and impacts related to Total Rewards programs (Sec 125, ERISA, 409A, HIPAA, etc.).
