Company Overview

From the very beginning, Vantage West Credit Union existed to suit the needs of the community. In 1955, we started in a one-room barrack at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base with the mission to help Tucson’s air force personnel and their families. Back then, the humble DMAFB Federal Credit Union, as we were then known, served a little under 600 Members and had less than $60,000 in assets. By the end of the 1960s, we had already grown to nearly 14 thousand Members, sowing the seeds for the rapid growth we would see in the decades to come.

Vantage West got its current name in August of 2006, when the Board of Directors gained regulatory approval to convert from a federal to a state charter. The new name better represented the diversity of our Members and paved the way for continued expansion across the state of Arizona. In 2010 and again in 2014, Vantage West expanded by merging with First Edition Community Credit Union and the former Tombstone Federal Credit Union. Despite explosive growth, Vantage West has retained its core mission of investing in our surrounding communities. Our Members are loyal to us because we’re loyal to them, a philosophy that our President and CEO Robert D. Ramirez continues to emphasize today. As we continue to thrive, we are able to better serve our Members and communities so they may thrive too.

Vantage West helps our Members and communities thrive by offering personal and business financial services. We strive to provide our Members with the personalized service, knowledge and honesty they deserve in a financial partner. And while we're proud to be among the largest credit unions in Arizona, our community impact continues to be our proudest achievement: local decision-making, local investment.
