Job Summary:

As the Lead Toolmaker / Machinist, you will oversee the second shift operations at our state-of-the-art facility. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in precision machining and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the second shift team, ensuring effective collaboration and high-performance standards.
  • Machine Operation: Operate advanced laser machining equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Program Interpretation: Handle machine programming tasks and ensure all operations align with technical specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Study specifications, such as blueprints or sketches, to ensure precise machining of parts and adherence to tolerances.
  • Safety Management: Uphold strict safety standards and ensure all team members follow proper procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, such as LEAN Events and “Six S” activities, to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a lead or supervisory role within a machining or toolmaking environment.
  • 8+ years of experience in specialty areas of toolmaking or machining.
  • Proficient in blueprint interpretation and precision machining.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven track record of managing teams.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
